Statewide assessment data released
CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire Department of Education (NHED) has released comprehensive statewide assessment data for the 2022-2023 school year. While preliminary assessment results were previously published in July at the state level only, the newly published data set provides information at the state, district and school levels.
Users of the data set can sort assessment results by content area, grade level and student sub-group. Student performance on the statewide assessment is measured across four levels of proficiency – below proficient, approaching proficient, proficient and above proficient. The statewide assessment data identifies the percentage of students in each school and district that scored at each level, as well as the total percentage of students that are scoring at proficient or better.
As noted in the preliminary data release, statewide assessment results are showing an acceleration of growth for New Hampshire students, which highlights a slow, upward recovery trend for two consecutive years. In addition, the scores from 2023 indicate modest improvements across nearly every grade level in math and reading, except for eleventh-grade SAT scores. School and district report cards, which include the full academic assessment results and federal accountability data, will be released in November as part of the update to the state’s iReport system. The 2023 comprehensive statewide assessment data is now available.
