Federal Accountability

The Office of State and Federal Accountability develops, implements, and evaluates accountability systems as required by federal law and state statutes. This includes the implementation of the state Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) plan, the identification of CSI/TSI/ATSI schools, the Input-Based Accountability System (IBAS) and the Performance-Based Accountability System (PBAS). The Office also provides direct technical support and assistance to schools, districts, and policymakers in understanding and interpreting accountability results.

Revisions to the State ESSA Plan

On September 29, 2023, the U.S. Department of Education approved New Hampshire's revisions to its State ESSA Plan. See this Federal Accountability System in New Hampshire document for an updated overview.

Accountability Designations

The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requires states to make available the number and names of public schools identified for Comprehensive Support and Improvement and Targeted Support and Improvement (Section 1111(h)(5)(C)). Please see the reports below for the lists of CSI, TSI and ATSI schools identified in Fall 2022 and Fall 2023.
