NH School Wins Blue Ribbon Award

Congratulations to the Mast Way Elementary School in Lee for receiving National Blue Ribbon School Honors from the U.S. Department of Education. The honor was bestowed upon the school for being an exemplary high performing school, according to Betsy DeVos, the secretary of the U.S. Department of Education.

"I'm pleased to celebrate with you as your school is named a National Blue Ribbon School," she stated in a video message to the honorees. "We recognize and honor your important work in preparing students for successful careers and meaningful lives. Congratulations on your students' accomplishments and for your extraordinary commitment to meeting their unique needs."

The award, DeVos noted in a press statement, affirms the hard work of educators, families and communities in creating safe and welcoming schools where students master challenging and engaging content. Mast Way Elementary was the only school from New Hampshire honored this year out of 349. Officials from the school will be invited to Washington, D.C., in November.
