Ed MacKay Receives BIA's Above & Beyond Award

Dr. Edward R. MacKay, Higher Education Commission, was honored with the Above and Beyond award at the Business & Industry Association’s Annual Business Meeting and Member Reception. This award is given to outstanding volunteer BIA members in recognition of their outstanding service and leadership advancing the BIA’s mission of promoting a healthy climate for job creation and a strong NH economy.

“Dr. MacKay’s work to support a seamless preK-16 system of education has helped promote our states efforts to grow a strong economy through the use of data and research,” said Virginia M. Barry, Ph.D., Commissioner. “His partnership building has helped to create a greater communication between business and education.”

Ed has been a leader in higher education in the State of New Hampshire for many years holding several prestigious positions, including the Chancellor of the University System of New Hampshire. He is well known for his collaborative work and has demonstrated a deep commitment to K-12 schools and the development of a seamless system of public education. As Director of the Division of Higher Education – Higher Education Commission, he continually supports improvement and innovation in our public education system.
