Appointment of New Director Division of Higher Education - Higher Education Commission

Michael Seidel was sworn in as the Director of the Division of Higher Education – Higher Education Commission on November 20, 2017.Michael brings to the department a fresh perspective. He spent years working with businesses to improve quality, process, and results. He hopes to utilize those same skills within the Division of Higher Education. “I’m looking forward to working with all stakeholders to support continual improvement and innovation within the higher education ecosystem” Michael said.

Michael holds an International MBA from Vienna University’s School of Business & Economics, Vienna, Austria and the University of South Carolina; honored as class salutatorian. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame where he studied Electrical Engineering & Business Management. He has pursued additional studies at Harvard University, University of Massachusetts, and Southern New Hampshire University, where he has also been a guest speaker.
