Nonpublic School Approval Office


This office oversees the implementation of the NH Code of Administrative Rules Chapter Ed 400, Approval of Nonpublic Schools. Additionally we provide technical assistance to nonpublic schools and information to the public regarding nonpublic schools in New Hampshire and related New Hampshire laws (RSAs).

Nonpublic School Advisory Council (NPSAC)

The Nonpublic School Advisory Council was established by Ed 400 to perform duties assigned by the State Board of Education related to nonpublic schools, to facilitate communication between the Department of Education and nonpublic schools, and to raise issues of concern to nonpublic schools. The Council consists of 21 members including representatives of private schools, the Department of Health and Human Services, and the Department of Education, as well as, two members representing the public and a public school official.

Recently a position was created for a public school official to serve on the Council. Persons interested in serving on the Council for a three year term are encouraged to submit a brief resume and cover letter explaining their interest in the position to Dr. Judith Fillion at Judith.Fillion@doe.nh.gov.
