State Board of Education Selects Five New Members to the Professional Standards Board



At their August 11th meeting the State Board of Education named two teacher representatives, two higher education representatives, and one qualified lay person, and re-appointed one teacher and one school administrator to the Professional Standards Board (PSB). The PSB is a 21-member body authorized by state law to advise the State Board of Education regarding professional growth, certification, and governance of the education profession in New Hampshire.

PSB members are appointed for three-year terms and may serve up to two full terms. The following are the newly appointed or re-appointed members:

Category I – Teachers/Education Specialists

  • Nancy Corbett, Speech - Language Specialist, Pembroke, NH (appointed for a three-year term)
  • Laura Hainey, AFT-NH President, Bow, NH (appointed for a three-year term)
  • Frances Taylor, substitute teacher, Plymouth NH School District (re-appointed for a three-year term)

Category II – Higher Education and Education Administration

  • John Fabrizio, Principal, James Mastricola Elementary School, Merrimack, NH (appointed for a three-year term)
  • Charles Littlefield, Superintendent, SAU 15, Hooksett, NH (appointed for a three-year term)
  • Karen Soule, Superintendent, SAU 56, Somersworth, NH (re-appointed for a three-year term)

Category III – Qualified Lay Persons

  • Emma Rous, Chair, NH House Education Committee, Legislative Building, Concord, NH (appointed for a three-year term)
