The New Hampshire Department of Education, Bureau of Career Development, has developed and implemented career clusters and pathways in our high schools to inspire students to look at their futures and to continued education beyond high school. Administrators, teachers and guidance counselors are reporting that students are experiencing more success in school by participating in a career cluster model program.
Below you will find links to the many models that have been developed for NH high schools. The career clusters have strong industry and postsecondary partnerships to support sustainability.
Each Career Cluster has a promotional fact sheet with an overview of how the program has been developed in NH schools, and a career planning outline that can be used to assist students in bundling courses to best prepare them for a given career cluster.
Each cluster has a consultant that is ready to provide NH schools with free technical assistance and help you develop a program that meets your needs. Contact names and telephone numbers can be found on each fact sheet.
In addition to developing Career Pathway Plans of Study, New Hampshire was awarded a federal grant from the Office of Vocational and Adult Education, US Department of Education in 2008 to develop and implement Rigorous Programs of Study that include statewide articulation agreements. In collaboration with the Community College System of NH, Rivier College and Southern New Hampshire University, the New Hampshire Department of Education developed Rigorous Programs of Study which include Dual Enrollment options for students in the fields of Accounting and Health Science.
